Why Read?
I've been a book lover for as long as I can remember. Stories from my family about my reading habits go even farther back that my own memory. Books are responsible for many things in my life--the beginnings and endings of many relationships, the urge to travel, the ability to cope with depression, a faith in the unseen, the anger towards heartlessness, the frustration with all the gray areas that exist on so many issues and on so many levels, a desire to be both wizard at Hogwarts and lady of the English countryside enchanting a certain Mr. Darcy, sleepless nights finishing just one more chapter...I could go on and on!
It's this appreciation for the written word that drives me in the classroom. And it's this love of the written word that drives me here.
I constantly find myself gushing about books like a silly girl with a crush. I hand them out to whoever is willing to receive them and I find a sense of accomplishment when I pair the right book with the right reader, or maybe it's the other way around...the reader to the book...
The combination of these two elements, the love of reading and sharing books, will guide this blog. As I read them, I'll share them--and who knows, it might be your name that ends up as the subject line!
In the words of one of my favorite characters, Reuben Land, "make of it what you will"
Super excited to follow you on this blog!!!
